The team nurture ambition and build confidence, carving out pathways into the Creative Industries. As a social enterprise, they reinvest their profits to further support these objectives. Fotonow CIC believes in the transformative power of creative media, drawing on participation and collaboration to make sure every voice is heard and reflected. By engaging with participants and communities, they strive to create positive change and meaningful outcomes, shaping a brighter future for all involved.
Fotonow has focused on its commercial services towards purpose-driven organisations during the Create Growth Programme. This year, they won a £10,000 documentary commission from a Plymouth community group and secured a £2,500 film commission from a national charity. They also received an £11,000 commission from the local authority for a creative media program for SEND young people in Plymouth. The CIC continues to support young artists through the annual South West Graduate Photography Prize in London, where one selected artist will earn a residency or commission in 2025.
For Fotonow the future involves strategically positioning and customising their commercial services to attract a diverse pipeline of purpose-driven clients. The team will also focus on exploring new premises that can accommodate their expanding operations and help with collaboration. Fotonow also hopes to build partnerships with local businesses and organisations in Plymouth to enhance their community presence and drive mutual success.
“Creative UK’s support has been a catalyst for expanding our reach and enhancing our community-focused projects, setting a strong foundation for sustainable growth in 2024 and beyond.” Matthew Pontin
