Yellow Mouse

Yellow Mouse Studios believes that ‘when you’re animated people listen’. This award-winning animation studio based in Devon is well-known for its diverse skills, including 2D, 3D, motion graphics, and stop-motion. Founded by Daniel Willers and Katie-Jane Stewart, Yellow Mouse gets its imaginations whirring on innovative projects for film, TV, music, and organisations like the BBC and National Trust.

Passionate about nurturing new talent, the team mentors aspiring artists through partnerships with the Royal Television Society and Exeter Phoenix. They also run an Animation Academy, providing young people with digital animation skills and pathways to future creative opportunities. In an effort to combat climate change, the studio has initiated a tree-planting scheme, planting a tree for each client project and new intern, resulting in over 200 trees planted to date. Their commitment to creativity and sustainability ensures that every project aligns with their clients’ values while promoting environmental responsibility.

How did Yellow Mouse develop over the Programme?

Yellow Mouse has experienced significant growth this year, propelled by a host of original animated series. The company has effectively cultivated a diverse network of industry partnerships, leading to an increase in new commercial clients. Their successful acquisition of an Innovate UK grant has enabled the development of new intellectual property and the establishment of an animation academy aimed at training and retaining talent within Devon’s screen sector. Following a rigorous phase of business development, Yellow Mouse is strategically poised to introduce its new offerings, with the potential for expansion into international markets.
