Internal Garden

Quelling anxiety, reducing heart rates and connecting people back to nature, Internal Garden LTD develops sound tools to promote joy and well-being.

Through interactive art installations, educational events and public exhibitions drawing on biosonic sound art, Internal Garden are making waves. Founded by highly-acclaimed, award-winning artist Justin Wiggan, whose practice sits at the frontiers of arts and public intervention, the Internal Garden team has built an impactful business-focused innovative technology, that builds community resilience and individual well-being through a simple, accessible process. Their work has staggering potential to bring positive impact and is in high demand, with sound installations extending into galleries, youth homes and public access spaces to name a few. Internal Garden’s ethos is based on connecting people back to nature and back to their bodies, bio-sonically.

How did Internal Garden evolve over the programme?

Following the success of their immersive soundscape at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2024, many doors, both at home and abroad have been opened to the team. Internal Garden’s ingeniously devised products and collaborations have resulted in 18-month diverse commissions across conglomerates, garden centres, the National Trust, Abbey Road, health spas, hotels, and numerous other sectors, demonstrating the high growth potential of the business.

“Justin Wiggan is the most exciting artist working across arts and health in the UK today, with ground-breaking projects bringing huge potential for impact across life sciences, a testament to the power of creativity in health and wellbeing.”

Where they’re setting their 2024/25 sights…

Internal Garden is gearing up for some exciting up-and-coming projects, including an installation with the National Trust and Echo Point — a well-being program using sound to influence breathing and increase mindfulness — creating  soundscapes for solar-powered sound-breathing benches. The team was recently commissioned for Oto, a hotel chain, to create a soundscape for their new mushroom spa treatment, as well as a collaboration with øthers perfume to re-address the relationship between sound and scent. Justin is currently on the hunt for collaborators and investors for a new bisonification device called ‘wander wand’ which allows screen-free sound detective investigations for children in nature, with the aim of rewilding their nervous system.
