A terrified young woman must find a way to terminate her unwanted pregnancy; in a country where having an abortion can mean life in prison.

More about Across the water

ACROSS THE WATER is the true story of 19 year-old Vicky who discovers to her horror, that she is pregnant. Unable to secure the funds to get to England, she feels she has no choice but to purchase abortion tablets online – something that is illegal in Northern Ireland.  Ruby, her 36 year-old flatmate, having suffered a miscarriage, offers to bring the baby up herself.  For Sasha, the other flatmate, the decision is obvious: Ruby needs to be a mother. During the hot summer of 2016 in Belfast, the 3 women’s needs create a perfect storm – one that will change their lives forever.
