Join Creative UK and Digital Catapult for a two-day event focused on building bridges to innovation. Developed by Creative Enterprise, Wakefield: Advance and Digital Catapult with support from the XPLOR, we are looking to bring together screen industry innovators to hear from experts and find new ways to collaborate towards accessing funding.
The first day of the event will focus on the best ways to innovate and collaborate, while the second day’s focus will be solely on funding and finding ways to address the briefs set forward by Digital Catapult and Creative Enterprise. Together, the funding initiatives and challenges presented will open more than £500,000 of funding available to applicants, as well as highlight other ways to fund innovation in the creative sectors.
We are looking forward to welcoming companies and freelancers from the following fields: games, film & tv, animation or immersive (AR/VR/MR/XR/VP), prioritising those who have not yet had the chance to take part in a Wakefield: Advance workshop!

Advance – is a support programme for creative and cultural practitioners, freelancers and SMEs based in Wakefield and the wider Yorkshire Humber region. Advance is delivered in partnership with Wakefield Council and funded by The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s Cultural Development Fund grant, which is administered by Arts Council England.
Creative Enterprise – Creative Enterprise is a bespoke set of initiatives by Creative England for ambitious screen businesses to access connections, training and networks to achieve business growth. Working closely with our partners at the BFI, Creative Enterprise has been designed by industry leaders to take ambitious entrepreneurs who work in moving image for storytelling, spanning film and television, games and technology, on a journey to maximise their ability and create opportunities for business growth.
Digital Catapult – Digital Catapult drives early adoption of artificial intelligence, immersive and future networks technologies to make UK businesses more competitive and productive, and to grow the country’s economy.
