Catherine Johns, business advisor on the North of Tyne Culture and Creative Programme, hosted a series of free 30 minute webinars over the autumn of 2022. The webinars were aimed at creative sector businesses and provided a fun and engaging introduction to some of the key skills and knowledge needed when it comes to developing your business.

The webinars also provided a quick introduction to the North of Tyne programme including the business support Catherine can offer as part of the programme. This series is aimed at people living and working in the North of Tyne Combined Authority area (Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside) but is open to all.

Catherine Johns is one of the Business Advisors for the North of Tyne Culture and Creative Investment Programme.  Catherine has a wealth of experience in helping innovative businesses scale up, being instrumental in turning the North East Technology Park from “two buildings in a field” to a £100M pioneering science park. Catherine was Vice-Chair of the United Kingdom Science Park Association, a Board Director of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) and founded Women in IASP. As Director of the North East Centre of Excellence for Satellite Applications, she also built the fastest growing space cluster in the UK. Catherine is currently CEO of Kielder Observatory, has been a trustee of Helix Arts and a Director of Generator North East, and volunteered with Southpaw Dance Company as a business development consultant. Catherine will be hosting regular webinars on different topics, as well as specific one to one support for creative and cultural businesses.
