20th September 4-8pm, The Ladder, Redruth
Spaces & Places Workshop & Dinner
A late afternoon open event for Devon and Cornwall creative businesses, freelance creatives, place makers and enterprises to come together. There will be some keynote presentations and panel conversations about social impact measuring, the Creative UK manifesto, the future role of cultural and creative activity in place shaping/ local authority strategy, and how to collectively position within the Great South West.
This will be followed by a big feast so people can talk deeply and collaboratively about their next steps. We will be encouraging creatives to invite a ‘friend’ of the creative industry with them. Perhaps the local mayor, a town clerk, a community leader or a trustee, so that conversation can go wider than the creative ecology.
(A similar event will be held in Devon as an ongoing conversation towards the end of November)

Live Arts Lift Off
Following on from this year’s Cornwall Summit, Creative UK will be hosting an afternoon of discussions about the live arts industry in the South West. From the South West End to regional social impact we will welcome perspectives from national and regional representatives and empower the local ecology to collaborate on larger strategic branding.
We hope that the afternoon will feature a presentation of a new SW Creative Industries Report to enable local businesses and agencies further afield to understand the findings and assimilate for their own growth plans. In light of Hall for Cornwall’s Helen Tiplady being allocated time to write a Dance & Theatre Strategy for Cornwall, we will also make sure that there is workshop time allocated for Helen to collect input from Cornish businesses.
