Albatross Theatre

Albatross are a contemporary new writing theatre collective based in the North East of England. We
believe in theatre that asks big questions but isn’t afraid to have fun. We believe that a night at the theatre
is an event that brings us all together, regardless of age, background or belief; a shared experience that
helps us to feel less alone. We believe in the healing power of creativity. We believe in theatre that allows
us to look at ourselves and the world around us a bit differently.

April 11

April 11 is a shop and community space championing the work of new and established makers from the North of England and Scotland. We honour craft as art and celebrate the beauty of slow, thoughtful production selling high-quality goods.
We also provide:
– A studio space available for local artists and makers to hire
– A weekly programme of workshops, led by the craftspeople we showcase, inviting the community to learn, create, and connect
– A welcoming café, designed to draw people in

Rooted in place and passion, our space brings together those who make, those who appreciate, and those curious to learn.

It started with my own books, but as we grow we are looking to offer a platform for regional talent from editors to artists, and other authors to get their work in front of a voracious, global fan base and push awareness off our brand and genre in the UK.

SNIDE

SNIDE was born in Newcastle, What started as a university project became a realised fashion house. The name? “Snide” is Geordie slang for fake, a wink to the decades of counterfeit designer gear that’s circulated through the North.

Our mission is simple: design clothes for the outcasts, the ones who live in alleyways more than runways. Gothic silhouettes, hand-distressed finishes, and taboo-heavy storytelling are at the core of what we do. Every piece is crafted in small batches and hand-finished in Newcastle.
