At this year’s Summit, we’re exploring the role of technology in our creative practices and businesses.

From generative AI tools to advancements in virtual production, the application of experimental technologies is becoming more popular, bringing with it ethical debates around its uses and what this means for future skills across the Creative Industries.

Here are our tech-focused sessions to look out for over the three days.

Wed 6 March – Sparks of Tomorrow 

Be inspired by pioneers of creative technology in a series of lightning talks. Uncover the future technologies being developed today, and how you can implement them in your own projects and businesses. Brought to you by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

 

Wed 6 March (In-person) | Fri 8 March (Online) – Artificial Intelligence vs Artist Integrity 

Uniting the innovators and sceptics of AI, we debate the biggest challenges, opportunities, and pitfalls facing our sector’s adoption of future technologies. Whose opinion will steer us towards the future? Brought to you by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

 

Wed 6 March – From Critical Thinking to Chat GPT 

Design thinking, user experience, and interaction between humans and technology – are these the skills of our future creative economy? If so, how can we build a universal creative education that makes these accessible to all? Brought to you by The Open University.

 

Fri 8 March – AI Models and Artistic Livelihoods 

In this thought-provoking session, we examine the morality, impacts, and ethics of using generative AI technology in the Creative Industries. 

 

Fri 8 March – Inspiration, research and asset creation, using AI in your creative business – Beginners 

From Chat GPT to Midjourney, ideation to application, learn the pathways of the latest generative AI tools and how to apply these to your creative business. 

 

Fri 8 March – Inspiration, research and asset creation, using AI in your creative business – Advanced 

Power-up your existing knowledge of the latest generative AI tools, from the likes of ChatGPT and Midjourney, to expand on how it’s woven into the workings of your creative business. 

 

Fri 8 March – The Creative Process in Action: Moonraker 

Take a journey through Moonbase: The Next Step, a full dome film, and uncover the roles and collaborations that go into realising immersive content. From concept to design, writing to visual effects, we learn the secrets of Moonraker’s masters.
