Announcing the latest West Midlands Create Growth Programme cohort

We’re excited to introduce the next set of businesses who will be taking part in the West Midlands Create Growth Programme.
Last week the cohorts came together for the first time for a workshop held in the Randle Studio at the Midlands Arts Centre, an appropriately inspiring environment to kickstart the Create Growth Programme.

The day opened with an introduction to the programme, Creative UK, and partners West Midlands Combined Authority and Create Central. This was followed by an engaging panel discussion with three alumni from last year’s iteration of the programme (Pamela Aculey of Just Like Me Books & MIXD Reality, Sarah Green of Borro, and Michael Ford of Threewise Entertainment), chaired by Tara Attfield-Tomes (East Village PR, The 51% Club, and Lifted). The panellists spoke about their experience of the programme and their journeys as founders, sharing some great nuggets of wisdom for the new cohorts.

The day rounded up with a session on Values for Founders, led by Tamara Gal-On, which encouraged the cohorts to think about how their values can shape and inform their business decisions and lead to more fulfilling and sustainable practices.

The workshop encouraged introspection and ambition for the future, and there was a great sense of empowerment in the room as the businesses as they embark on a six-month programme of workshops and mentoring to prepare for growth an investment.
