Founded by husband-and-wife team Barney Chandler and Emilie Fontaine in 2015, the pair draw together their backgrounds and knowledge of digital, digital and data, enabling them to cut through the complexity of research and data to draw out the stories that connect. From infographics to digital strategies, e-learning to brand identities, Cobo’s work not only helps their clients share important ideas, getting groundbreaking research and insight out into the world, but it opens doors for more people to access it too.
The team has expanded its client portfolio, bolstering its reputation with AI system research, academic partnerships, and more diverse briefs. Whether it’s working with women in tech charities or specialist engineering businesses, their client portfolio and creative outputs are expanding rapidly. Cobo has recently undertaken a research and development project to open up new avenues for profit and growth, with a focus on making medical research accessible to wider audiences.
“The Create Growth Programme has been essential to force us to reflect on the business, rather than always be “fire fighting” day-to-day tasks. Additionally, it’s given us the confidence to really focus and the means to develop a very exciting Research and Development Product.”
Barney Chandler, Co-founder

Plans are afoot to move into newly built premises in 2024, enabling the team to take on more junior designers, both in-house and remotely, and organically grow their creative design services offering. Cobo will also pursue funding and partnership opportunities to help achieve its growth plans.
