
Creative Enterprise, part of Creative UK, is excited to unveil the new cohort selected for its Investment Readiness Programme, an initiative designed to equip ambitious screen businesses with the tools and connections to secure funding and scale sustainably.
Creative Enterprise is a part of Creative UK, the national network for the Cultural and Creative Industries, championing the power of creativity to transform lives and economies, connecting talent and organisations across sectors. Through targeted programmes like Investment Readiness, Creative Enterprise helps creative companies access the tailored support, networks, and funding they need to thrive.
Following a highly competitive application process, this new cohort brings together some of the most promising companies from across England’s screen sector, including film, TV, games, animation, immersive, and creative technology. Over the next six months, these businesses will receive expert mentorship, personalised guidance on investment strategies, and direct access to investors active in the creative space.

The Investment Readiness Programme has a strong track record of supporting growth-stage businesses as they navigate equity, debt, and grant opportunities. This cohort will benefit from workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and curated investor meetings which are all designed to boost their confidence and clarity when pitching for investment.

David Smee – Animazing Toys (Anibotics Ltd)
A creative and commercially-minded leader, David graduated as a product designer in 1994 and ambitiously progressed in product & marketing manager roles for entertainment and communication companies (BT, Sky, Orange, Toshiba) over 15 years. After conceiving and launching several leading-edge products internationally, he left corporate life to work with first-rate university spinouts, startups and scale ups, helping to co-found & commercialise their business ideas. Having a strong interest in education and conservation, in 2020 the first of his two educational books for children was published by NPP, as he worked with educational robotics providers for schools and nurtured a new business concept.

Flip Computing is developing Flock XR, a free open source 3D creation tool for young people aged 9-14+. Our lesson packs make it straightforward for educators to introduce young people to skills that are relevant to them now and prepare them for future careers across many creative sectors. ”
