How did Bigwave develop over the Programme?

Bigwave has enjoyed an enormously productive year, using the Growth Programme as a springboard to launch some new innovation ideas into their annual budget/forecast for the 24/25 financial year.

During the process, the company’s directors have not only managed a successful Management Buy Out (MBO) but were also successful in securing an Innovate UK Creative Catalyst grant for £29,000 to explore web app and Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Thanks to his involvement with Creative UK, Director Simon Beer has been recognised as a leading figure in the Southwest creative sector. As well as becoming a member of the Torbay Council Creative Industries steering group, Simon has also been recognised as a valued member of the Devon and Torbay Combined County Authority Business Advisory Group.

2023/ 2024 Highlights

Where they’re setting their 2025 sights

Income growth has enabled the team to expand, which in turn will help in the creation of new service areas. This all falls in line with the future-focused plans Bigwave hopes to roll out over the next three years as part of their five-year plan.

Growing with Creative UK

“The Devon Create Growth Programme was an amazing way to meet peers, network and learn. The practical support and ideas throughout the programme have been inspiring, and have helped us to look at how we can support the wider creative sector through regional growth and connection.” Simon Beer, Director
